We keep getting updates on the Highway 385 construction. They have a lot of work to do on the route, and are making good progress. There will still be a lot of construction through the summer and we’ll keep you updated on any news we get as Raly draws near.

We’re starting to notice a little more activity around the entire Rally area. The Black Hills communities are getting ready for you! Make sure and check out the Rally Communities section. The Rally takes place in a large are and the communities involved look forward to hosting you! The best part? The overwhelming majority of local businesses outside Sturgis keep their prices the same every day. You get the same deal locals do every day.

They will be at the Thunderdome for your convenience and also at their permanent location on St. Joseph street in Rapid City. You don’t have to suffer!

We are excited to announce that we will be putting a Native American Culture section in the SturgisRally.App! The area you’re riding through and enjoying was once sacred ground to the several tribal groups who occupied the land. There were many skirmishes over the land, and Custer’s expidition into the Black Hills and the subsequent discovery of gold accelerated the tragedy of driving the native peoples from their land. Look through the section and learn the truth!

We’re making great progress on the app! You will find something new every single day as we fill out the sections. The greatest frustration for all of us is not knowing the schedules yet. Well, we’re scouring the Internet and talking to the venue and event people, so as soon as we know, you’ll know. We’ll be conducting our first giveaway in early February, so keep an eye out here and on the various Facebook pages we’re working with. It’s gonna be a blast giving away gear, steak dinners, bar tabs and more!

We just received a notice that traffic control signage is in place on US Highway 385 and that the use of pilot cars and flaggers resumes on January 6th.

We’ve been getting lots of great comments about the app! Although we’re working on the app every day, there is much to do! We’re working with communites and venues to get the schedules up as soon as possible. We will post up events, concerts and other activities as they come available! In the meantime, check out the SturgisRally.App every day because there’s something new every single day!

Had a great meeting yesterday with the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. We have great plans to have the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame in the SturgisRally.App with their own special section. We’re also going to attend the banquet and get interviews with some of the motorcycle culture’s leaders. You can visit their website HERE.
